Did You Know that the Blacktip Shark (Carcharhinus limbatus)….
.….is a species of Requieum shark and part of the Carcharhinidae family that is commonly found in coastal tropical and subtropical waters around the world?
.….has less prominent black markings on its fins and is a larger species than the smaller Blacktip Reef Shark? The Blacktip Shark has a long and narrow pointed snout; a conspicuous wedge-shaped band or Z-shaped line on the sides; and black tips on its pectoral, dorsal, and tail fins. Its anal fin is white.
.….sometimes leaps out of the water and corkscrews around after making a feeding run through a school of fish? Spinner sharks also exhibit this behavior.
