Did You Know that the Swellshark (Cephaloscyllium ventriosum)….

….is also known as a Balloonshark and can puff up to twice its body size with air when in small spaces such as between rocks? This gives them the ability become wedged in so tightly that a predator cannot pull them out.

.….is a small and slow-moving shark that averages only about 50-100 cm in length? They have long and wide mouths that are used to gulp down mouthfuls of small fish before swallowing them whole. They rest during the day and come out at night to feed.

….is a catshark in the Scyliorhinidae family and is found in the subtropical eastern Pacific Ocean from central California to southern Mexico as well as off the coast of Chile?
