Did You Know that Sharks make other fish do some interesting things….

.….like when smaller bait fish cluster together into a tight sphere called a bait ball? This often occurs when they are in danger from sharks. Sharks enter these tightly packed spherical formations in order to more easily catch and feed upon the fish.

The formation is an instinctual behavior by fish used as a defense mechanism for being more protected when part of a larger group.

The bait balls are short-lived and seldom last longer than a few minutes.
