Did You Know that Not All Sharks have an Anal Fin….
.….but when they do, this fin helps provide stability for the sharks that do have one?
When present, the anal fin is located between the pelvic fin and the tail.
In several shark species, the anal fin is absent including the orders of Squaliformes, Squatiniformes, and Pristiophoriformes.
