Shark Trivia

Did You Know that a Shark’s eyes….

….are generally large and help them to generally have what is considered very good eyesight as there is limited light underwater?

….are not covered by eyelids so they do not blink? Some species have a special cover called the nictitating membrane that closes over the eye when the shark is about to bite.

….can be heated if they live in cold water because they use a special organ next to their eye socket that lets them hunt in extreme temperatures?
