Did You Know that you can swim with Sharks in South Africa….
.….but depending where, you may need a cage? South Africa is home to many apex predators including Great White Sharks, Mako Sharks, Bull Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Bronze Whalers, and many more species. It is a prime destination for diving with sharks and regarded as one of the best shark destinations, especially around Durban and Cape Town.
For adrenaline junkies, one of the most sought after activities is cage diving with Great White Sharks, which are abundant due to the seal population.
South Africa is a perfect venue for shark diving, with thousands of miles of beach and ocean to explore as well as an abundance of food sources that draw the sharks near. However, the water can be quite cold for divers and is not always very clear.
False Bay and Gansbaai, often referred to as the Great White Shark Capital of the World, are considered some of the best places in the world for cage diving with Great White Sharks.
